Warmth and Texture: Transforming Your Bathroom with Timber Cabinetry.

Using solid timber in bathrooms and ensuites is more than a bathroom trend; it has become a mainstay option.

While we work with a range of bathroom finishes, from laminates to acrylics, there’s something undeniably special about the warmth and texture that natural timber brings to a space. Timber cabinetry is one of the most effective ways to infuse this warmth and texture into a bathroom, transforming it into a serene, spa-like retreat.

Our pro tip: Hard, heavy woods with natural moisture resistance are ideal. Australian natives like spotted gum and Tasmanian oak are excellent choices due to their durability and resistance to moisture.

All timbers require proper treatment with oils, varnishes, or paints.

Timbers to avoid use in bathrooms include pine and redwoods like Merbau. Also, consider the sustainability of your timber choice with imported timbers like teak and wenge. While they are beautiful and durable woods, their sustainability and ethical sourcing should be considered.

At St Kilda Cabinets, we work with Interior Designers and individual clients to realise their design vision. All our work is carried out in our Melbourne workshop.
